Digiskin

Hidden in drupa hall 3 on stand C14 is Digiskin. This innovative company has developed their own ink and foil for customising and personalising mobile devices, from mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, bluetooth devices and even laptops.

Digiskin use a standard Epson desktop printer to print the image design (using specially developed inks) onto a foil substrate which is then applied to the mobile device using an adhesive film and vacuum. The design is printed on the reverse-side of the foil, so it doesn't scuff or rub-off.

Digiskin offer a range of media including translucent foil, textured foil and more. They've recently opened a concept store in Singapore where shoppers can walk-in and give their mobile device a makeover. Prices start at €20, so it's not cheap or cost effective for mass branding, but it's a small price to pay for the average fashion conscious girl who wants her mobile phone to match her shoes and dress.

Digiskin templates are currently designed in Illustrator and can easily be personalised with a name or brand, but they are now looking at incorporating personalised images in a design, which would take their library of design templates to a completely new level.
